The White Hill of Montmartre
Montmartre was an independent village, with its own town hall and vineyards, until Paris annexed it in 1860 to make it the 18th arrondissement. On this hill, the highest point in the city, painters with barely any money later moved in, along with a cabaret with a rabbit for an emblem and the only vineyard still growing inside Paris, while a white basilica slowly rose on the summit. It's about 2.5 km, with some slopes and stretches of stairs: Montmartre is, literally, a hill.
